George Bradley was born in 1889 at Doncaster, he married Betsy Wakefield (born 15th January 1889 in 1910, their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, In 1911 they lived at 70 Curzon Street Netherfield Nottingham and were shown as George 22 yrs an ex locomotive fireman living with his wife Betsy 23 yrs. They went on to have children, Irene in 1916 and George in 1918 , they lived at 15 Garnet Street, Gordon Road, Nottingham. Commencing 6th August 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Military History

Private George Bradley enlisted at Birdwell, Yorkshire, he served with the 26th (Tyneside Irish) Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers, he was killed in action on 17th January 1917 and is buried at Ration Farm Military Cemetery, La Chapelle-D'Armentieres
