John Ashley Burton was born in 1891 and baptised on 22nd March 1900 at Great Yarmouth the son of William John a bricklayer and Margaret A Burton (later Osborn). William John was born in 1861 at Great Yarmouth, Margaret was born in 1865 at Stratton Strawley, Norfolk. In 1911 John Ashley was boarding with relatives Arthur and Annie Haslam at 71 Ewart Road Forest Fields Nottingham.
Military History
Gunner John Ashley Burton enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 14th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery he died of wounds on 25th November 1917 he is buried at Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery,
