Hubert Arthur Setchell was born in 1897 at Lincoln, the son of Louis a surveyors clerk and Louisa Setchell née Button of 4 Ash Villas Mayo Road Nottingham. Louis was born in 1872 at Bedford, Louisa Button was born in 1870 at Dean, Bedford, married in 1895 at Bedford they had a further child, Edith Mary in 1905 born in Lincoln. In 1911 the family were living at 128 Gwendolen Road, Lincoln, Louis 39 yrs is a surveyors clerk, he is living with his wife Louisa 41 yrs and their two children, Hubert Arthur 13 yrs and Edith Mary 6 years, also living with them is mother in law Elizabeth Button 84 yrs.
Private Hubert Arthur Setchell enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing in Nottingham, he died of wounds on 4th October 1916 he is buried at A.I.F. Burial Ground, Flers
