Family History

Harry Deacon was born in 1892 the son of the late Albert a lace curtain maker Ellen Deacon née Bennett and the brother of Mabel, Albert, John George and Nellie Deacon. Albert was born in 1871 at Basford he died prior to 1911, Ellen Bennett was born in 1870 at Sutton in Ashfield, they were married in 1890 at Nottingham and had 5 children. In 1911 the family at 57 Brushfield Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham.

Military History

Private Harry Deacon enlisted at Nottingham, he was killed in action on 26th September 1915 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.
