Family History

Frederick Arthur Pritchett was born in 1885 the son of Thomas Pritchett a lace curtain draughtsman and the late Eliza Pritchett née Stanley of 60 Ortzen Street, Nottingham. Thomas was born in 1853 at Sneinton, Eliza Stanley was born in 1852 in Nottinghamshire, she died in 1908 aged 56 yrs. they married in 1868 their marriage was recorded in the Bingham registration district, they had 5 children, In 1911 they lived at 66 Radford Road Hyson Green Nottingham.

Military History

Private Frederick Arthur Pritchett enlisted on 23rd February 1916 at York, he was 32 yrs and 240 days old, he was a clerk and lived at 50 Monkgate, York, his next of kin was his father Thomas. Posted to the reserves he was mobilised for war on 25th July 1916 he was posted to the Durham Light Infantry, He landed in France on 21st December 1916 where he joined his battalion in the field. He was killed in action between 9th and 10th April 1917. He is buried at Cojeul British Cemetery, St. Martin-Sur-Cojeul
