He was the son of James and Frances Carr and the brother of Albert, Frances Jane, Charlotte, Robert, Adelaide, John William and Edith Mary Carr. In 1911 they lived at 34 Noel Street Nottingham. He was the husband of Hilda Jane (née Kerry) Carr of 23 Sydenham Road Stockton on Tees.

Military History

296th Brigade Royal Field ArtilleryJames was reported missing on 21st March 1918 and subsequently listed as killed in action on that date. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
