Frederick Cecil Thomson was born in 1895 the only son of Thomas Jervis a house painter and Ada Alice Thomson née Forman of Hazel Grove House, Edwinstowe. Both Thomas Jervis and his wife Ada Forman were born in 1862 at Edwinstowe, married in 1893 at Edwinstowe, in 1911 the family lived at Hazel Grove house, Edwinstowe, Thomas Jervis and his son Frederick Cecil and both house painters Frederick's probate was proven on 24th July 1918 in Nottingham and shows him as Frederick Cecil Thomson of Hazel Grove House, Edwinstowe a Private in H.M.Army died on since 27th April 1917, his effects of 3124, 1 shillings and 2 pence were left to Thomas Jervis Thomson painter.

Military History

Private Frederick Cecil enlisted at Ollerton whilst residing at Edwinstowe, he was killed in action on 27th April 1917, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Theipval Memorial, Somme, France.
