Family History
Hubert was born at Sturton in 1897 the son of George an agricultural labourer and Harriet Nedham (née Ellis) of Sturton. Georege and Harriett had 14 children but by the 1911 census only 11 were still surviving. They lived on Vicarage Lane in Sturton. Hubert's elder brother Albert was killed in action (1/7/1916).
Military History
103rd Bde. He was killed serving on the Italian front and is buried in the Dueville Communal Cemetery Extension,Italy.
