Family History

Thomas Henry was born in 1896 at Hucknall and was the son of Thomas a coal miner hewer and his first wife Martha White née Kirkby of 28 Beech Ave, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. His father Thomas was born in 1865 at Kirkby, his mother Martha Kirkby was born in 1862 at Welbeck, they were married in 1884 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they went on to have the following children, John b1887 and and Eliza Ann b1890 both were born at Hucknall. Thomas married his second wife Harriett Hallam b1864 Pleasley in 1894 at Mansfield, they went on to have the following children, Thomas b1896 and Leslie b1901 both were born at Hucknall. In the 1911 census the family are living at 28 Beech Avenue Hucknall Torkard and are shown as Thomas White 46 yrs a coal miner hewer, he is living with his wife Harriett 47 yrs and their children, John 24 yrs a coal mine loader, Thomas 15 yrs a coal miner pony driver and Leslie 10 yrs a scholar.

Military History

Private Thomas Henry White enlisted at Hucknall, he initially served with the service number 42764 in the 152nd Brigade Royal Filed Artillery he was transfered to (516953) Western Command Labour Centre Labour Corps. He died of Pneumonia on 21st March 1918 and is buried at Hucknall Cemetery.
