He was the son of James Mansbridge and the late Sarah (d. 1911) and the brother of Horace, Arthur, Harry, Ethel, Florrie, Selwyn and Emily Mansbridge. In 1911 they lived at 6 Strutt's Yard Mansfield He married his wife Susan Brown in 1914 at Mansfield.
