Son of the late Charles and Catherine Moran. Next of kin was his aunt, Jessie Ann Moran, who lived at 106 Churchill Ave, Foleshill, Coventry. In 1911 he lived with Thomas and Ada Guilor of Yew Tree Farm, Woodhouse Road, Mansfield.

Military History

Enlisted 08/09/1914 in Glasgow, initially with the Argyll and Sutherland Regt. In France from 9/7/1915. In hospital at Alnwick 19/3/1916 to 22/4/1916 with shrapnel wounds to chest. Received fatal wounds to left thigh in 1917. Telegram sent 9/4/1917 from St John's Hospital, Etaples, seriously ill, regret permission to visit him can not be granted. A 2nd telegram was sent announcing his death 2 days later.

Headstone Inscription: May He Rest in Peace". This man is commemorated in a book of remembrance held by Mansfield District Council.
