Family History

He was the son of Herbert and Alice Dearman and the brother of Edith Alice, Olive Evelyn and George Edgar Dearman. In 1911 they lived at 374 Meadow Lane and later at 92 Hartley Road Radford (both Nottingham).

Military History

Gunner Frederick John Dearman, attested at Nottingham on 30th June 1914 , he was posted as a gunner into the Royal Field Artillery. He landed in the Balkans on 9th July 1915 and whilst serving with “B” Battery, 69th Brigade Royal Field Artillery, he died of disease at Sheikh Saad, Mesopotamia on 9th July 1916 he was buried in Amara War Cemetery,

Obituary published 15th August 1916 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- DEARMAN. – Died of disease, July 9th, Gunner Fred Dearman, R.F.A., aged 21 years, beloved son of Herbert and Alice Dearman, 374 Meadow Lane.
