Frederick Arthur Chamberlain (junior) was born in 1890 at Nottingham, he was the son of Frederick Arthur Chamberlain (senior) and Julia Blanche Chamberlain née Hitt and the brother of Beatrice Chamberlain of 24 North Street, Sneinton, Nottingham,
His father Frederick Arthur Chamberlain was born in 1869 at Nottingham, his mother Julia Blache Hitt was born in 1864 at Kingston, London, they were married on 16th May 1887 at Emmanual Church, Nottingham, they went on to have 4 children.
In 1911 they lived at 24 North Street Sneinton Nottingham, Frederick Arthur (senior) 42 yrs a fish salesman is living with his wife Julia Blanche 47 yrs a charwoman and their children, Beatrice 10 yrs of age, Frederick A 19 yrs a cabinet maker and Ethel Chamberlain (daughter in law) 18 yrs a lace hand.
Frederick Arthur (junior) was the husband of Ethel Hodgkinson (born 10th October 1894) they were married in 1910 at Nottingham, they lived at 17 High Street, Lowdham Street, Nottingham they had 3 children, Samuel Henry born 16th May 1912, Eric Umberto born 20th January 1914 and Lilian Irene Chamberlain born 1st April 1916.they lived at of 17 Hyde Terrace Lowdham Street Nottingham.
Commencing 4th March 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 26 shillings and 3 pence a week.
Private Frederick Arthur Chamberlain, enlisted at Nottingham, he served with 'B' Coy 12th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action on 14th August 1917 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial
