He was the son of Edward and Mary Williams and the brother of Florence, Frederick (killed in action 13/10/1918), Lily, Mary, John, William, George and Cyril Williams. In 1911 they lived at 10 Norland Road and Later 29 Cathcart Street (both St Ann's Road Notingham).
