Albert Henry Griffiths

Albert Henry Griffiths was born in 1888 in Tamworth and was the son of Charles a sanitary pipe maker and the late Emma Griffiths née Barber of 83 Lichfield Street, Tamworth. His father Charles was born in 1854 at Tamworth and his mother Emma Barber was born in 1857 also at Tamworth, they were married in 1875 at Tamworth and went on to have 20 children, sadly 8 were to die in infancy or early childhood. His mother died in 1910 aged 53 yrs the death was recorded in the Tamworth Registration District. In the 1911 census his family are living at 83 Lichfield Street, Tamworth and are shown as Charles 56 yrs a widow, a sanitary pipe maker, he is living with his children, Alfred 28 yrs a coal miner, Louisa 17 yrs a paper bag maker, Herbert 12 yrs a tape weaver, Fred 10 yrs and Emma 6 yrs. Albert Henry Griffiths married his wife Sarah Ann Hardstaff on 29th October 1910 at the Basford Registry Office, they had two children, Albert Henry born 6th October 1910 and John born 7th February 1914 both born in Basford, they lived at 36 Vine Terrace Hucknall. In the 1911 census the family lived at at 36 Vine Terrace , Hucknall and were shown as Albert Henry 24 yrs a coal miner, loader he is living with his wife Sarah Ann 28 yrs and their son Albert Henry 4 months of age. Sarah later moved to 8 The Conner , Hucknall
