He was the son of Henry and Lucy Elizabeth Selby and the brother of Sarah Ann, John Albert, Ernest, Henry, Harold and Hilda Selby. In 1911 they lived at 20 Thurgaton Street and later at 133 Windmill Lane (both Sneinton Nottingham).
Pte. Arthur Selby was killed in action on 23rd March 1918. He has no known grave and is commemorated in the Arras Memorial.
“SELBY. – Killed in action, March 23rd, 1918, Private Arthur Selby, attached Lincolns, aged 19 years, the dearly loved youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Selby, 133 Windmill-lane.
