Son of Mr. W. and Mrs. E. Bennington He married his wife Priscilla Harper in 1908 in Nottingham and they went on to have a son Cecil born in 1910 they lived at of 60 Belvoir Street Hucknall Torkard Nottinghamshire. In the 1911 census Fred and his family are living at 12 Vine Terrace, Hucknall and are shown as Fred 24 yrs a skate mechanic working at a skating ring, he is living with his wife Priscilla 24 yr (born Hucknall) and their son Cecil 1 yr.

Military History

Private Fred Bennington, enlisted at Warminster, Wiltshire and initially served with service number 49867 with the South Staffordshire Regiment. He was serving with the 10th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment when he was killed in action on 28th April 1917. He is buried in Roeux British Cemetery.
