He was the son of John and Emily Elizabeth Banner and the brother of Elsie and Irene Banner. In 1911 they lived at 67 Montague Road Hucknall Torkard Nottinghamshire.

Military History

Driver Rowland Banner enlisted on 28th December 1914 and served with 'B' Bty 125th Brigade Royal Field Artillery, he suffered from being gassed in France and was discharged on 31st August 1918 as being unfit for active service. He was issued with a Silver War Badge umber 442757. He died on 12th August 1919 and is buried in Hucknall Cemetery, Nottingham.
