Frederick Taylor was born in 1895 in Radford and was the son of George a colliery banksman and Mary Taylor née Allsebrook of 10 Baldwin Street Denman Street Radford Nottingham. His father George was born in 1843 in Aberdeen and his mother Mary Ann Allsebrook was born in 1853 in Mansfield, they were married in 1871, their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration district, they went on to have 6 children sadly 1 died in infancy, their surviving children were :- Margaret b1872 Nottm, John b1874 Nottm, Florence b1878 Nottm Barbara Ellen b1883 Glasgow and Fred b1895 Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are living at 10 Baldwin Street, Nottingham and are shown as George 68 yrs a coal pit labourer/banksman he is living with his wife Mary 58 yrs and their children , Barbara Ellen 28 yrs a lace trimmer and Fred 16 yrs a lace jacker off, also at the address is Elsie West 6 yrs born 195 Nottingham a grandchild.
Private Frederick Taylor, served with the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire) Regiment, he was killed in action on 9th August 1915. He has no known grave, his name is Commemorated on the Menin Gate, Ypres, Belgium.
