Samuel Richard Longdon

Samuel Richard Longdon was born in 1890 at Lenton, Nottingham and was the son of Sam a coal miner hewer and Thirza Longdon née Beaumont of 47 Ossington Road, Radford, Nottingham. His father Sam was born in 1861 at Kimberley, he died in 1916 aged aged 55 yrs, his mother Thirza Beaumont was born in 1863 at Lenton and died in 1915 she was 51 yrs old, they married in 1883 at Nottingham and went on to have the folliwng children, Fred b1884, Flora b1885, Ethel Eliza b1887 , Samuel Richard b1890, Florence b1897 Clarice b1900 and Frank b1903 all were born in Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are living at 47 Ossington Street, Radford and are shown as Sam Longdon 50 yrs a coal miner hewer he is living with his wife Thirza 47 yrs and their children, Ethel Eliza 24 yrs a lace winder, Samuel Richard 20 yrs a brass bobbin worker, Florence 14 yrs a scholar, Clarice Ida 11 yrs as cholar and Frank 8 yrs of age. Samuel Longdon married Elizabeth Rose Kent in 1920 at Nottingham, they lived at 30 Cambridge Street, Nottingham and had a son Samuel Richard Longdon born 1921.
