John Henry Lawton

John Henry Lawton was born in 1896 at Ilkeston Junction and was the son of Waldermar a fitter of hosiery machines and Adeline Lawton née Carter of 46, Norton Street, Radford, Nottingham. His father Waldermar was born in 1863 at Trowell, his mother Adeline was born in 1864 at Nottingham, they were married in 1891 their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration district, they went on to have 7 children, sadly two were to die in infancy or early childhood, their surviving children were, John Henry b1896 Ilkeston Junction, their remaining children were all born in Radford and were Elizabeth Annie b1900, Ada b1902, William b1904, and Florence Louisa b1906 . In the 1911 census the family are living at 295 Denman Street, Nottingham and are shown as Waldermar 47 yrs a fitter he is living with his wife Adeline 47 yrs and their children, John Henry 15 yrs a lace manufacturers apprentice, Elizabeth Annie 11 yrs a scholar, Ada 9 yrs a scholar, William 7 yrs a scholar, and Florence Louisa 5 yrs, also living with them is Elizabeth Carter 53 yrs a pin stitcher, described as a boarder.
