Edmund Cecil Hunt was born in 1895 at Nottingham and was the son of Thomas a general labourer and Elizabeth Hunt née Cragg of 5 Caulton Street Radford Nottingham. His father Thomas was born in 1872 at Nottingham, his mother Elizabeth Cragg was born in 1867 at Draycott, they were married in 1893 at Nottingham and went on to have the following children, Elizabeth b1893, Edmund Cecil b1895, Joseph Henry b1897, and Leslie b1901, all were born in Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are living at 5 Caulton Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham and were shown as Thomas 39 yrs a general labourer, he is living with his wife Elizabeth 44 yrs and their children, Elizabeth 18 yrs a lace jennier, Cecil 16 yrs a layer on in litho printing, Joseph Henry 14 yrs a scholar and Leslie 10 yrs a scholar.

Military History

Rifleman Edmund Cecil Hunt enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 11th battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps, he was killed in action on 4th April 1917, he is buried at Fins New British Cemetery, Sorel-Le-Grand.
