Harold Chamberlin

Harold Chamberlin was born in 1893 the son of John William Chamberlin a lace maker and his first wife Sarah née Wilmot of 8 Upper Orchard Street Stapleford Nottingham. John William was born in 1860 in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire Sarah Wilmot was born in 1862 in Stapleford, married in 1882 in Nottingham they had 9 children 2 of whom died in infancy or early childhood, their children were, Gertrude b1883 Ernest b1886, Avalida b1887, Elizabeth b1889, Ella b1890, Harold b1893, Hermon b1896, Sarah b1898 and John H b1900 all were born in Stapleford. His mother Sarah died in 1902 aged 40 yrs her death was recorded in the Shardlow Registration District, his father went on to marry in 1906 to Minnie Harper the marriage was recorded in the Shardlow Registration district. In 1911 his father is living with his second wife at 8 upper Orchard Street, Stapleford and are shown as John William a lace maker, living with his wife Minnie 43 yrs and his children, Lizzie a lace jennier, Hermon a milk errand lad and Sarah a scholar. In the same 1911 census we find Harold a boarder, living at 13 Northwood Street, Stapleford, he is living with Frederick Dredge 27 yrs a journey man baker, who is living with his wife Gertrude Dregde 28 yrs Harold Chamberlin is 18 yrs and a warper in the lace trade, also living at the address is Harold older sisters Availda Chamberlin 24 yrs a drapers assistant and Ella Chamberlin 20 yrs a lace mender.
