Family History

Thomas Watson married his wife Lottie Wright (born 7th July 1894) in 1913, their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration District they lived at 2 Sherwood Street, East Kirkby and had a son Thomas born 12th March 1915. His widow was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 25th February 1918.

Military History

Gunner Thomas Watson, enlisted at Hucknall and served with “A” Battery, 174th Brigade Royal Field Artillery. He first entered a theatre of war on 6th July 1915 in Egypt he was killed in action on 8th August 1917. He is buried in Poperhinge New Military Cemetery.
