The following children were born in Tuxford, Notts, Ann Morley born 1884, Emma Morley born 1887, Mary Jane Morley born 1891, Polly Morley born 1892, George Henry Morley born 1894, Elizabeth Morley born 1898, Hilda Morley born 1903 and John Morley born 1908. Their parents were George and Elizabeth Morley (nee Mellors) who had married in 1882, George being a farm labourer and later to a farm foreman. He was a native of Tuxford and lived there all his life. The subject of this text, George Henry Morley, had left the family home at Tuxford by 1911 and was working as a servant labourer for John Sampson, a farmer and inn keeper for the Robin Hood Inn at Edwinstow, Notts

The Retford, Gainsborough and Worksop Times Friday March 2nd 1917 page 5 The funeral of the late George Henry Morley, only son of Mr Geo. Morley, farm foreman to Dr C. E. Whitington, took place in Tuxford Churchyard last Wednesday, when the Rev. J. O. Crosse, Vicar of East Markham, officiated. The deceased, who died under distressing circumstances at Brockton Camp, Staffordshire, from pneumonia, had only been called up about a fortnight and was attached to the 14th Training Reserve Battalion. He was only 22, and up to being called to the Colours was in the employ of Mr Hoyland, farmer, Blyth. The chief mourners were etc. etc.
