Mann, Bishop-street, have received the sad news of the death of their youngest son, Corporal Jack Mann, Northumberland Fusiliers. He was severely wounded on the 2nd [22nd?] March in France, and died in hospital there on April 19th. Twice previously he had been wounded — Easter Monday, 1917, and October, 1917. He had done three months' training in France for his Commision, [sic] and was expected home in a few days to complete his preparation at a Cadet school in England, when the big battle commenced on the 21st March. For sometime after leaving Mr. Maltby's school he was with Mr. Bradfield , accountant, and Mr. Hardy, Mansfield. He enlisted in 1916.” Above article is courtesy of Jim Grundy and his facebook pages Small Town Great War Hucknall 1914-1918
