Frederick William Jeans was born in 1897 at London was the son of George a labourer and Elizabeth Annie Jeanes née Henrys of 8 Willey's Yard Sutton in Ashfield Nottinghamshire. George was born in 1874 in Worcestershire, Elizabeth Annie Henrys was born in 1875 at Redhill, Surrey they were married in C1895 and had 6 children, Frederick William b1897, Emily Sophia b1899, Elizabeth Annie b1901, George b1903 Alice b1908 and Georgina May b1911. In 1911 the family are living at Hatfield Road, Thorne.
Private Frederick Jeans enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at Sutton in Ashfield, he was killed in action on 8th September 1916 and is buried at Contay British Cemetery, Contay
