Family History

Frank was the only son of Albert John a cigar manufacturer and Julia Emma Fidler of 'Havana House' Hucknall Torkard Nottinghamshire. Albert and Julia had three children but one died in infancy. Frank's only surviving sibling was Dorothy.

Military History

Frank enlisted in Grimsby on 23rd September 1914 and served with the 10th (Grimsby service ) Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. He embarked for France 9th January 1916. On the first day of the battle of the Somme he was killed in action. His body was never recovered and his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial Somme.
