Family History

Albert Hunt was born in 1891 and baptised on 21st September 1891 at Parish Church Newbold and Dunston, the son of Tom and the late Emily Maria Hunt. Tom was born in 1871 and Emily Maria was born in 1871 she died in 1894 aged 23 yrs they were married on 27th January 1891 at Newbold, Derbyshire. In 1911 he lodged with his uncle and aunt at 6 Crees Yard Church Street, Kirkby in Ashfield his uncle was William Collins 36 yrs a coal miner hewer and his aunt Mary Collins Albert is 20 yrs of age and a coal miner hewer. He married Ruth Hardy (born 2nd May 1891) in 1913 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they lived at 39 Mayfield Road Kirkby in Ashfield.

Military History

Corporal Albert Hunt enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Kirkby in Ashfield. He was killed in action on 23rd September 1918 and is buried at Lebucquire Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
