Douglas Dalziel Leverton was born in 1899 at Sutton in Ashfield the son of the late Henry a coal miner hewer and Helen Leverton née Dalziel of 71, Kirby Rd., Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottingham. Henry was born in 1859 at Sutton in Ashfield he died in 1903 aged 48 yrs , Helen Dalziel was born in 1864 in Ayrshire, married in 1885 at Mansfield they had 3 children, Henry b 1885, Maggie b1891 and Douglas b1899. In 1911 the family were living at 35 High Pavement, Sutton in Ashfield, Helen 47 yrs a widow is living with her children, Maggie 19 yrs and Douglas 12 yrs of age.
