16th Battalion, attd. 64th Trench Mortar Battery. He was gazetted on 3 December 1914 and attached to the 15th Battalion. He is buried in Cambrin Churchyard Extension (grave ref. S.22).

W Heslop was gazetted to a commission on 3rd December 1914, prior to which he had passed three years with Boots, principally on relief work in Manchester district, though towards the end of his service he was permanently stationed at the Darlington Branch. The 15th Battalion of the Durham Light Infantry, to which Second-Lieut. Heslop is now attached, is at present in camp at Tring, but an early movement is thought to be probable in view of the efficient training the troops have by this time received.'
