Family History

He was the son of James and Amelia Allum. In 1911, the family was living at 23 Farmers Road, Egham, Berkshire

Military History

He enlisted on 23/11/1915 and was part of a draft for the BEF on 25/07/1916. For stealing a towel, he underwent a General Court Martial at Etaples on 14/08/1916, receiving 3 months Field Punishment No.2 He served with Nelson Battalion from 16/09/1916 until his death, dying of wounds in 4th Casualty Clearing Station (shrapnel wound right leg 20/01/1917)
