George Haydn Frith was born in 1890 the son of Frank a colliery labourer and Annie Frith née Shaw and the brother of Stanley, Edith and Ernest Frith of 39 Crocus Street, Kirkby in Ashfield. Frank was born in 1868 at Kirkby in Ashfield, Annie Shaw was born in 1868 also in Kirkby, married in 1888 their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration district they had 4 children. In 1911 they lived on Crocus Street Kirkby in Ashfield Nottinghamshire.

Military History

Private George Haydn Frith enlisted at Kirkby in Ashfield, he initially served with the service number 36019 in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He was killed in action on 24th Ocotober 1918 and is buried in Herinnes Communal Cemetery, Belgium B.2
