John William Fowler was born in 1899 the son of John James a coal miner hewer and Annie Fowler née Miller and the brother of Mary Rebecca and Ernest Fowler. In 1911 they lived at 13 Langford Street Sutton in Ashfield Nottinghamshire. John James was born in 1874 and Annie Miller was born in 1878 both were born in Sutton in Ashfield, married in 1897 their marriage was recorded in the Mansfield registration district.

Military History

Private John William Fowler enlisted at Nottingham, he was killed in action on 22nd August 1918, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial
