Edward Albert Cotton

Edward Albert Cotton was born in 1897 at Hyson Green and was the son of Edward a frame work knitter and Rebecca Cotton née Robinson of 568 Berridge Road, Hyson Green, Nottingham. His father Edward was born in 1869 at Dudley, Staffordshire, his mother Rebecca Robinson was born in 1868 at Apleton, London, they were married in 1894 their marriage was recorded in the Nottingham registration district, they went on to have 4 children, sadly one died in infancy or early childhood, their surviving children were Hilda b1896, Edward Albert b1897 and William Cotton b1902 all were born in Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family lived at 600 Berridge Road, Hyson Green, Nottingham, they were shown as Edward 42 yrs a frame work knitter, he is living with his wife Rebecca 43 yrs and their children, Hilda 15 yrs a blouse machinist, Edward 14 yrs a packer in a tobacco factory and William 9 yrs a scholar.
