Charles Frederick Coleman was born in 1896 the son of Charles a tailors cutter and Sarah Coleman née Whetton of 36 Regent Street Sutton in Ashfield Nottinghamshire and the brother of Arthur Ivan and Winifred May Coleman. Charles was born in 1872 and Sarah Whetton was born in 1871 both were born in Sutton in Ashfield, they were married in 1894 their marriage was recorded in the Mansfield registration district. In 1911 the family lived at 36 Regent Street, Sutton in Ashfield.

Military History

Lance Corporal Charles Frederick Coleman enlisted at Sutton in Ashfield and served with the 14th battalion Welsh Regiment. He was killed in action on 30th August 1918 and is buried at Morval British Cemetery, France.
