Family History

He was the son of Henry and Ann Betteridge (née Goacher) and the brother of Fanny, William, Joe, Tom, Agnes, Reuben and Ernest George Betteridge. In 1911, they lived at 4, Victoria Terrace, Nuncar Gate, Nottinghamshire. Henry and Ann later lived at of 18, Victoria Terrace, Nuncar Gate.

Military History

Driver Harry Bettridge enlisted at Hucknall whilst residing at Kirkby, he died of meningitus on 6th April 1917 at 27 Casualty clearing station at Salonica, he is buried at Lahana Military Cemetery, Salonika: Grave Reference: III B 3

Extra Information

His brother Rifleman James Henry Betteridge enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at Annesley Woodhouse, he landed in France on 31st July 1915. He was killed in action on 10th April 1917, having no known grave his names is commemorated on the Arras Memorial Bay 7
