Cecil George was born in 1881 the son of Albert William a lace merchant and Elizabeth Lake née Attenborough of Beeston Lane, Attenborough, Nottingham. Arthur William was born in 1851 in Nottingham Elizabeth Attenborough was born in 1850 also in Nottingham, married in 1874, their marriage was recorded in the Shardlow Registration district, they had the following children ,Albert William Attenborough b1875 Long Eaton, Percy Addison b1877 Long Eaton, Harry Arthur b1879 Attenborough, Cecil George b1881 Attenborough, Herbert Addison b1883 Nottingham, George Wilfred b1886 Nottingham, Hilda May b1890 Nottingham and Lizzie Mabel Lake b1894 in Nottingham.
