Stanley Richard Robinson was born in 1897 and was the son of William the verger of St Mary's church, Nottingham and the late Mary Robinson of 62 Hounds Gate, Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are living at 62 Hounds Gate, Nottingham and are shown as William 56 yrs a widow and the verger of St Mary's Church, Nottingham he is living with his children, Mary 17 yrs a student bursor, Leslie 16 yrs a warehouseman and Stanley R 14 yrs a scholar

Military History

Private Stanley Richard Robinson enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 16th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment and was killed in action on 8th October 1916. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial
