Pte Sydney Parkin Worksop Guardian 20 June 1919 The sympathy of many friends will be expressed to Mr and Mrs Parkin of 11 Watson Road, Worksop, who have just received official information that their son, 28175 Pte Sydney Parkin, 1st Battalion, Kings Own Royal Lancashire Regiment, is presumed dead and expressing the condolence of their Majesties, the King and Queen, in the great loss which has befallen them. Pte Parkin has been missing since April 1st 1918. He enlisted in 1915 in the Notts and Derbys and was for some time engaged in clerical work at headquarters.
