Frederick Abbott was born in 1883 at Nottingham and was the son of Alfred a company secretary and Mary Jane Abbott née Hutchinson of 12 Berridge Road Sherwood Rise Nottingham . His father Alfred was born in 1855 at Nottingham, his mother Mary Jane Hutchinson was born in 1860 also in Nottingham, they were married in 1881 at Nottingham and went on to have 3 children, Frederick b1883, Bernard b1884 and Eveline Abbott b1891 , all were born in Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are iving at 12 Berridge Road, Hyson Green, Nottingham and are shown as Alfred 58 yrs a company secretary, he is living with his wife Mary Jane 51yrs and their children Frederic 28 yrs a wholesale millinery salesman, Bernard 27 yrs a bank clerk and Eveline 20 yrs no occupation listed. Frederic married his wife Florence Caroline Fletcher in 1911 at Nottingham and they lived at 80 Portland Road Nottingham.

Military History

Rifleman Frederic Abbott served with the 13th battalion The Rifle Brigade. He was found drown on 9th February 1919 in Belgium and is buried in Ligny-En-Cambresis Communal Cemetery (grave ref Allied British Section 6)
