Family History

George Raymond Pinder was born in 1893 he was baptised on 4th October 1904 at St Peters Church, Nottingham, he was the son of William Alfred a gardener and Elizabeth Jane Pinder née Turton and the brother of Olive Amy, Charles William, Maud Violet, Ada Rose, Edith Gladys and Doris Winifred Pinder. In 1911 they lived at 25 Lytton Street Gordon Road Nottingham. William Alfred Pinder and Elizabeth Jane Turton were both born in 1861 at Nottingham, they were married in 1884 at Nottingham and went on to have 7 children.

Military History

Private George Raymond Pinder, enlisted at Nottingham he served with the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment.) He landed in France on 23rd February 1915 and was killed in action on 10th October 1915. He is buried in Potijze Burial Ground Cemetery.
