Family History

Frederick Ogley was born in 1900 the youngest of nine children born to Matthew and Martha Ogley of Scrooby, Bawtry. His father died 27 September 1923 aged 78 and his mother died 7 October 1924 aged 77.

Military History

He initially went to Retford to enlist in the Lancashire Fusiliers (40278). He later transferred to the 9th Battalion Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. He is buried in the Roeux British Cemetery Grave Reference: B 22
