Husband of M. M. Woodward (formerly Upton), of 14, Athol Terrace, Egypt Rd., Basford, Nottingham (CWGC). Formerly of Russell Street.
The obituary in the All Saints Church News is mistaken about his time as a prisoner of war as the CWGC record gives a date of death in March. Souplet British Cemetery (ref Urvillers German Cem Mem 42).
All Saints Church News, May 1919: 'Albert Henry Upton, 2 Russell Street, Rifleman Kings Royal Rifles, enlisted January 1915, wounded on the Somme July 1916, taken prisoner March 26th 1918, died in Germany August 1918 aged 23. Has been moved about a year.'
