Family History

Wallace Staines Judge was born in 1892 and was baptised on 7th August 1892 at Reigate Parish Church he was the son of Harry a grocer and Alice Judge née Gurr and the brother of Ethel, Lillie and Edith Judge. Harry Judge was born in 1859 and Alice Gurr was born in 1857 both were born at Frittenden, Kent they were married on 30th September 1880 at Frittenden, Kent they went on to have 9 children, sadly 1 died in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 they lived at 35 Pym Street and later at 28 Baden Powell Road (both Nottingham).

Military History

Sapper Wallace Staines Judge enlisted at Nottingham, whilst residing at Reigate. he initially served with the service number 17279 with the Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He was killed in action on 23rd September 1917 and is buried at Duhallow A.D.S. Cemetery Grave Reference: I C 42
