Father: George Edward Anthony, born 1871 in Nottingham, working as a milk seller and later as a hosiery warehouseman. He attended Queen's Walk School and worshipped as a Methodist at the Albert Hall Mission. Mother: Eliza, born in 1872 in Nottingham, working as a lace hand and later as a charwomen. Sister: Mabel, born in 1898 in Nottingham. The family lived at 4 Bunny Terrace, Waterway Street, Meadows, Nottingham and later at 34 Blackstone Street Nottingham.

Military History

L. Cpl. Anthony was called up for service and following training he was drafted to France. The battalion took part in the Battle of Loos and L. Cpl. Anthony was reported missing 25 September 1915. His body was never recovered but his name was commemorated on the Loos Memorial. (Panel 57-59)
