Family History

Arthur Cooke was born in 1888 the son of Henry William s mill owner and Anna King Cooke née Pilsworth of Mill House Sutton in Ashfield. Henry owned a cotton mill on Reform Street.Henry William was born in 1853 at Sutton in Ashfield, Anna King Pilsworth was born in 1851 at Huthwaite, married in 1874 their marriage was recorded in the Mansfield registration district, they went on to have 10 children, sadly 3 died in infancy or ealy childhood. in 1911 the family were living at Mill House Sutton in Ashfield.

Military History

Lieutenant Arthur Cooke died on 22nd August 1917 and is buried at Cerisy-Gailly Military Cemetery, France. Plot I, Row C, Grave 27.

Extra Information

Attended Queen Elizabeth School from 30/10/1900 to December 1903. Left his father £1516 5s & 7d in his will.
