He was the son of Francis and Emily (nee Prince ) Wintour, of Southwater, Felixstowe, Suffolk.An entry can be found in the baptism records of St Marks, Woodhouse in Leeds, which states that Reginald Prince Wintour was born on 1st March 1885 and baptised on 8th July 1885 , his parents were Francis and Emily Wintour of Fleetwood on Wyre and his fathers occupation was that of enginner His probate record , proven in London on 26th February 1917 gives his details as Reginald Prince Wintour of the Haven, East Retford, Nottinghamshire , Captain , Army Service Corps ( Railway Transport ) died 15th Decemeber 1916 , his effects of £896 9s 9d were awarded to Francis Wintour engineer (his father )

Military History

Reginald Prince Wintour, served in the Royal Engineers, as a Railway Transport Officer .According to his medal index card first entered a theatre of war in France, on 19th December 1914 and he died of the 15th December 1916 aged 31 years. . CWGC grave register gives cause of his death as Malaria contracted while in Salonica and his next of kin as F Wintour Esq of Avenue House, Doncaster . he is buried in East Retford cemetery, Grave Reference: Old portion. G. I. 93
