Harry was born in 1897 in Calverton,he was the son of John Livingstone and Rebecca Wright, in the 1911 census he is shown as being 14 yrs the son of John born 1869 a frame work knitter and Rebecca born 1869 and has four siblings they are all living at Foxwood Terrace, Calverton.
Harry enlisted in Mansfield into the Sherwood Foresters and on his enlistment is living in Sneinton, Nottingham. He was killed in action France & Flanders. He first served in 9th battalion with number 5561 (TF) and was with them on Gallipoli. At some point he was posted to 1/8th battalion and was listed as missing on 30 August 1917, later as killed in action. The war diary for the 1/8th battalion for the 30th has - Cambrin - 30 August 1917 - '2/Lt D TANNER and 1 NCO and 2 men went out on patrol to examine the enemy wire, the 2 men returned but unfortunately the officer and NCO are missing' The NCO was Harry Wright. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.
