Family History
He was the son of Charles and Mary Ann Wildsmith of 31 Park Street Sutton-In-Ashfield Nottinghamshire his father being a bricklayers labourer who had married at Saint Mary's Church, Sutton-in-Ashfield in July 1875. He was the middle brother of Wilfred, who was killed in action 28/3/1918 and Gersham Wildsmith who was killed in action 17/10/1918. He was also the brother of Edgar and Ethel Wildsmith.
